January, 2020
Greetings Cardinal Fans,
The second semester is in full swing at “The Nest,” and the students and staff are excited about what a new year has to offer our school and community. During our January 6th staff in-service, I spoke about the importance of reflecting on what has occurred in our lives throughout the past year. I spoke about this because it is my belief that in order for us to be better, we must spend time in self-reflection. It is also my belief that for our school district to improve, we must do the same. The benefit of self-reflection is it allows us to have 20/20 vision. As we reflect on 2019 from a school district vantage point, we have many great things to celebrate. Here is just a small glimpse of all the great accomplishments:
- Students Instruction
- Creation of a district preschool program
- 1:1 technology implementation for students in grades 7-12
- Staff Development/Recognition
- Ongoing professional learning opportunities for staff members
- Monthly opportunity for staff to share their Cardinal Victories with the school board
- Building/Facility Improvements
- Completion of the new elementary wing, gymnasium air conditioning, and playground projects
- Renovation of existing upper elementary wing into our new art and weight rooms
- Major softball & football field improvements
- Community Relations
- Implemented a monthly board spotlight to recognize and celebrate students, faculty, and community accomplishments
- Reopened positive lines of communication with the Osborn School District
As always, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to serve our students and you as members of the Cardinal community.
We look forward to seeing you at #TheNest.
